HIGH PRESSURE WATER JETTING SERVICE

Clear Blockages

High-pressure water jetting is generally used for dislodging debris and substances found within underground pipework. High-pressure jetting can remove most blockages including scale, silt, concrete, and rubble, which will allow the pipework to operate as it was intended. It is also effective in cleaning out pipes that have become blocked by corrosion or other deposits.

The high-pressure jetting process consists of a nozzle attached to a hose with an internal pressure of up to 300 bar (4200 psi). The nozzle has a small hole at its tip through which water flows under high pressure. This creates a strong stream of water that is directed into the pipe where it breaks down any obstructions. If necessary, the nozzle may be moved along the length of the pipe to ensure all areas are cleaned.

Jetting is usually carried out using a handheld tool known as a ‘jetter’. A typical jetter includes a pump, pressure gauge, hose, nozzle, and trigger mechanism. The operator uses the trigger to activate the pump and then directs the nozzle towards the obstruction. As the nozzle passes over the obstruction, the water breaks down the material and dislodges it from the wall of the pipe. Once the obstruction has been removed, the operator turns off the pump and removes the nozzle from the pipe.
